There is a vast variety of unwanted telephone calls
1) Unwanted sales or marketing calls:
A large number of unwanted calls/texts are calls from telemarketing.
In your caller ID, you may know that a telemarketer is calling you. You can of course choose to put the phone down, but if you are not so busy, then allow them to say their whole initial speech. Avoid of using bad words, as the telemarketer is only doing his job. If you are not interested then simply say that “You are not interested in your services or product" and immediately hang up. If you don’t want calls from them in future then ask them to remove you from their calling list.
The most effective and easiest way to prevent telemarketing calls is to register your home and personal phone number with the National Do Not Call Registry.

A spam text message includes marketing of a particular product or service or claims that you won 0000000$ lottery and ask your personal details. It is against the law for companies to send you spam texts unless you have previously given them permission.
