In Android, I Phone and Blackberry most widely used messenger is WhatsApp. Everybody knows it. There are daily many messages in the form of text, mp3, video and voice recording are delivered and received on WhasApp since it is free for all.
But if we receives too many messages in a day, we accidently or intentionally delete these messages. But what if you want these message back ?
Backup & Restore
First we see how to take backup of WhatsApp.
WhatsApp automatically makes backups every day at 4 AM and stores them on the microSD memory card of your Android phone. To restore the most recent back up, you will need to uninstall and reinstall WhatsApp. If you need to restore older messages, check out "Restoring older (less recent) backups".
During the installation process, you will be prompted to restore your message history. Choose [Restore] to restore your missing chats.
But before attempting to restore messages, please note that current chat history will be lost upon restoration and rhere are only up to 7 days worth of backup files.
Also there are many applications on Android like Auto Backup for WhatsApp in which you take backup and restore.
Recover deleted messages
But if want older messages and if you don’t install any WhatsApp backup software, then there is one alternative way. Just follow these steps for Android device –
1. Connect your device to PC and copy the file msgstore.db.crypt which is located in '/sdcard/WhatsApp/Databases in PC.
3. 1. Click the 'Select SQLite File' then browse for the above file, select it and open.
5. Once the scanning is completed, you'll be provided with options to recover your lost data back.
For iPhone this file located at - 'net.whatsapp.Whatsapp/Documents/ChatStorage.sqlite'
